You can count Oklahoma real estate brokers among those who are watching with dismay the disappointing daily reports about sagging housing markets.
Now they're launching a campaign to tell Oklahomans that most of the bad news doesn't apply to markets in the Sooner State, where housing prices and sales have remained steady.
The Oklahoma Association of REALTORS® brought its "Good Thing You're in Oklahoma" campaign to Lawton last week to tell Southwest Oklahoma brokers about the push and ask them to become a part of the effort.
Lisa Yates, chief executive officer of the state association, said Oklahoma hasn't seen plummeting homes prices that have wrecked markets on the East and West coasts, "but there's a lot of talk" that REALTORS® think is needlessly depressing housing activity here.
